After your first Bikram class, what was your impression?
After my first Bikram class I thought, "this is the hardest workout
that I have ever done and I can't wait to do it again." I was
addicted on Day 1!
What drives you to continue to practice? What keeps bringing you back?
It has so many more benefits than going to the gym and after years
spent at the gym, it is refreshing to challenge myself in different
ways. I also love to see the results and the change in how my
practice gets better and generally varies from class to class.
What are some of the benefits and changes you've seen in yourself?
Physically I've toned up, increased flexibility and QUIT
smoking! Mentally and emotionally the benefits are
innumerable. I've always been a little moody, but this helps to
even me out and put everything in perspective.
What is your favorite posture in the series and why?
Standing Bow Pulling Pose - because I can see my toes over my head! I never thought that would happen!
What is your greatest challenge about the yoga? Yourself?
The greatest challenge for me is to just accept that my body is
going to do what it feels like that day, no matter how hard I
push. I just have to try to relax and be accepting.
What advice can you give to a 1st timer after they complete the class?
Keep coming back - it is fun and challenging and it only gets better.
Is there anything you would like to add?
Thank you Miranda! I'm really glad that I've met you and you've
opened my eyes to a lot of really new interesting things. I can't thank
you enough! |
