I broke my back two years ago, and nothing else would alleviate the compression and pain I dealt with every day. After a few weeks of yoga, the pain went away. I fell out of practice for a while and the pain came back. I'm
back to yoga now and pain free once again! Try your best, and
commit to going five times. It's different than any other workout and takes time to adjust.
After your first Bikram class, what was your impression?
I was wiped out! Who knew I could sweat so much without leaving my towel.?
What drives you to continue to practice? What keeps bringing you back?
I broke my back two years ago, and nothing else would alleviate the
compression and pain I dealt with every day. After a few weeks of yoga,
the pain went away. I fell out of practice for a while and the
pain came back. I'm back to yoga now and pain free once again.
What are some of the benefits and changes you've seen in yourself?
My energy levels have picked up significantly, and I'm more aware of my
water intake than ever before. As long as I stay hydrated throughout
the day (and don't eat right before hand) I find I do better in class.
What is your favorite posture in the series and why?
I would have to say spine twisting because it's good for the back and
it let's me know that I made it through another class! (It's the last
one).
What is the greatest challenge about the yoga? Yourself?
I have a hectic schedule and travel alot. Staying on track and getting to class are my personal challenges
What advice can you give to a 1st timer after they complete the class?
Try your best, and commit to going five times. It's different than any other workout and takes time to adjust.
